Prestegaard Named to Lead Great Lakes EDC Advisory Board
The Great Lakes Economic Development Council (Great Lakes EDC) has announced new leadership for its Advisory Board. Dean M. Prestegaard, founder and Principal Economist of DMP Development Analytics, has been named Chair, while Teresa Nortillo, Director of Economic Development Partnerships at TPMA, has been appointed Vice-Chair.
Prestegaard brings over 30 years of experience from the public, private, and academic sectors to his role as Chair. He founded DMP Development Analytics, an economic consulting firm based in Madison, Wisconsin, which focuses on issues at the intersection of economics, infrastructure, and economic development. His work is centered on applying regional economic tools and models to assist communities in making informed, long-term infrastructure investments that balance economic returns with risks and practical constraints.
In addition to his role at DMP-DA, Prestegaard serves on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Economic Development Association, is a member of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Freight Advisory Committee, and is active member of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce. Prestegaard holds a Master of Arts in Economics from West Virginia University and has completed doctoral studies in Urban Studies at Cleveland State University.
The Great Lakes EDC Advisory Board comprises a diverse group of professionals and leaders dedicated to strategic initiatives and programs that promote economic growth in the binational Great Lakes region. Prestegaard will lead these efforts, which include the annual “Great Lakes Rising” conference, scheduled to take place in Milwaukee from September 23-25, as well as the “Be Greater!” webinar series. The Council prioritizes collaboration and knowledge sharing among its members, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing economic development and innovation throughout the region.
“The strength of the Great Lakes EDC lies in the expertise and collaboration of its members,” stated a council representative. “Dean and Teresa bring a depth of experience and leadership that will help guide the organization as it continues to grow and deliver value across the region.” These appointments highlight the Great Lakes EDC’s ongoing commitment to promoting experienced, forward-thinking leaders who are actively driving economic growth and innovation in the region.
