About
The Madison Metropolitan School District is the second largest school district in Wisconsin and serves over 25,000 students in 52 schools. The district covers approximately 74 square miles including all or part of the cities of Madison and Fitchburg, the villages of Maple Bluff and Shorewood Hills, and the towns of Blooming Grove, Burke and Madison. MMSD is more than a school district; it’s a thriving community dedicated to excellence in education, inclusivity and support. We believe in the brilliance of all our children. By choosing MMSD, families and staff join a legacy of innovation and success in a unique, vibrant setting. Community-Centric Education: MMSD is an integral part of Madison, celebrating the rich diversity and inclusivity that define our community. Our schools reflect the vibrant culture of the city, making education a collaborative and engaging experience. MMSD serves families as early as 3 through play and learn and as old as 100 through MSCR. The success of our school district is directly tied to the success of Madison, when our students thrive, so does the entire community—empowering local partners, businesses and industries to grow and prosper together. Commitment to Excellence: We are dedicated to providing a high-quality education that prepares our students to thrive as global citizens. With innovative programs and dedicated educators, MMSD equips students with the skills necessary for success.
